The Region of Bessin au Virois is mainly rural organised around two urban poles and linked by several bourgs spread over the region with good infrastructures.

Situated between the important basins of activity (Caen, Rennes, Cherbourg) the region of Bessin au Virois has the advantage of the excellent transport links in proximity of these basins : The Airport at Caen - Carpiquet , The port at Ouistreham and Cherbourg : an important asset for economique development.

The region of Bessin au virois benefits also from a good road network east west noteably thanks to the A 84 , the extention of the RN 13 and the railway Bayeux -Caen and the current discussions concerning the connections from Vire and Bayeux at the axe of the A84 which is also an asset for the economique development of the territory.

Concerning the NTIC, lthe region of Pays du Bessin au Virois is in the process of providing broadband locally thanks to the actions of the department of Calvados which also intervened for the improvement of mobile telephones, mainly for businesses.
