A memorable historic patrimony which dates back to the Middle ages :
The donjon in Vire castle is a reminder of the one hundred years war. The Bayeux tapestry illustrates the conquest for the crown of England by William the Conquerer.
The renaissance castles of Balleroy,Crulley and Fontenay-Henry as well as the sites of the battle of Normandy are visits not to be missed.

The religious patrimony .
The Bayeux Cathedral, dedicated in 1077 by William, The abbey Saint Martin de Mondaye, still occupied by canons of the Premontré Order, Chapels of St Clair, St Sulpice, St Célerin du Pré-Bocage, where healing saints, still honored, performed many miracles. The church Notre Dame de Vire, is a jewel of gothic art among many others to discover.
A varied patrimony where arts, traditions and past economic activities go together , where nature and humanity touch each other.
